Launching CC Points
We are excited to officially unveil the CrowdCent Points System: CC Points. Our goal is to reward consistent, high-quality predictive performance and then use that to build a smarter meta-model.
Why Points? The Meta-Model Got Smarter.
The CrowdCent meta-model aggregates all participant predictions into a single consensus signal. Previously, we used a naive equal-weight average. Now, your points determine your weight in the meta-model.
When we switched from naive-weighting to points-weighting, the meta-model's mean composite percentile improved by ~5%. More importantly, the points-weighted meta-model achieves the best risk-adjusted performance (highest Sharpe ratio on composite percentile) on the leaderboard.
Your predictions matter more when you've proven you're good at this.
This creates a virtuous cycle: consistent, high-quality predictions → more points → greater influence on the meta-model. Higher and more consistent performers naturally accumulate more weight—and because we use an EMA (7-day half-life), you can't coast on past glory.
Your daily points are calculated with a simple formula:
$$ \text{Daily Points} = \max(0, (\text{Base Credit} \times \text{Streak Multiplier}) + \text{Performance Adjustment}) $$
You can never lose points you've already earned. A bad day simply means you earn 0 points for that day.
1. Base Credit & Streaks
Show up and participate.
Base credit: 0.5 points per active day.
Streak multipliers:
- Days 1–29 earn 1.0x (0.5 pts).
- Days 30–89 earn 1.5x (0.75 pts).
- Days 90+ earn 2.0x (1.0 pts).
Consistency pays off, literally doubling your daily floor after 90 days.
2. Performance Adjustment
This is where the leaderboard is won. We use a cosine curve to map your average percentile to points.
The curve is designed to reward consistency. It rises steeply between the 55th and 75th percentiles—moving from "average" to "good" yields massive points. "Swinging for the fences" (high variance) is still rewarded, but less optimal than reliably landing in the 75–80th percentile range.

Strategy
Target the 75s. The curve offers the steepest rewards for climbing into the 60th–80th percentile range.
Quality over quantity. Since we average your slots, spamming random submissions drags down your score—you don't earn additional points for using more slots.
Don't break the streak. Reaching the 2.0x multiplier ensures a solid point floor every day. Submit for 90 days straight and keep going.
Meta-Model Weighting

Your influence on the meta-model is proportional to the Exponential Moving Average (EMA) of your points; recent performance carries more weight than old performance. See the full documentation for technical details on the weighting formula.
Tier System
As you accumulate CC Points, you'll progress through 5 tiers. Higher tiers demonstrate your commitment and skill. Your tier badge appears on your profile and next to your name in the points leaderboard for instant credibility.

Get Started
The system is live now. Check the CC Points Leaderboard to see where you stand, and submit your models today to start building your streak.
Happy modeling!
